First edition. Johannes Diepold had joined the Reformation early on, in Weil der Stadt near Stuttgart, preaching the gospel, and later moved to Ulm where he reached a wider and more appreciative audience. The two sermons in the present flugschrift are perhaps his best known: the first, on the mission to proclaim the word of God—a tenet strongly encouraged in the workings of the Reformation—; and the second concerns the conscience of man with respect to God. A very good copy with an appealing floral woodcut title border.
